In the Lounge Room

We have many fantastic members at the ACT Chapter. For our first interview we speak with Shannon Battisson, Director of The Mill: Architecture + Design, 2018 ACT Emerging Architect Prize winner, ACT Chapter Councillor and Member of the Chapter’s Sustainability Committee.

In the Lounge Room is a series profiling the members of the ACT Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects. We meet in the Lounge Room or Entertainment Room at the ACT Chapter which was a key space in the original HQ and residence of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects in Canberra in 1967. It is still the hub of our ACT chapter activities today.

The ACT Chapter has rooms now for hire from a small meeting room to host interviews, small meetings or your interstate workplace to our large boardroom with boardroom seating up to 25 pax and lecture style seating for up to 50pax.
We also have our entertainment room for corporate launches or cocktail functions, with gardens views and courtyard access, this can host up to 100 pax. For more information download our ACT Chapter Room Hire - 2018.
