National Education Committee
The Institute’s National Education Committee (NEC) is made up of Institute members from all states and territories who are practicing architects and academic staff. A representative from the Student Organised Network for Architecture (SONA) and the Emerging Architects and Graduates Network (EmAGN) also serve on NEC. The committee focuses on all aspects of undergraduate architectural education, including education and research policies, recognition and accreditation of architecture courses, programs of architecture and students, national and international bodies concerned with architectural education, architecture and children, and careers information. Tertiary Education of Architects Policy
The Institute believes that architectural education is the essential foundation of the profession and is committed to developing and maintaining education standards through its Tertiary Education of Architects Policy and Standards for Programs in Architecture.

The Institute’s Research Policy and Understanding Research Excellence in Architecture promote and support collaborative research that links the profession, the construction industry, universities and government.
